air ride suspensions for 60-66 suburbans

i know most of the people on here seem to be more than capable of installing these setups on their own, but i was wondering if someone wanted to have an airbag system installed, what can someone to expect to pay? I've seen prices for kits range all over, just curious to what you could expect to pay for an average setup with installation at a shop, or would it just be better to buy a vehicle with it already installed??

Well, setups can go as deep as your pockets allow. You spend 500 bucks, you get that $500 ride. We all wanna save that nickel, but we don't wanna regret it later. I like manual setups where I can lower it when I get there.
As far as installation prices, they can get pretty high. I did my own on my Panel and it was work. I had to lift the body slightly just to fit my tools for the c-notch. It is more work compared to a truck where the bed can be removed. So if you buy something already insatlled, it might be pricey for a reason. Now keep in mind you wanna look for smething properly installed and if possible, test drive. It's just for the buyer's safety.

Here is a setup-looks complete for a 63-72 C10, a burb will be very similar. THis is for the parts only.

$989 plus shipping. I would guess and say install would be that much again, but that is only a guess.

Also, its good to note that most shops that do air bags and such may do one step at a time to accommodate your budget. I would find a reputable shop near you and ask them a bunch of questions.

Good Luck!

I think the questions that you need to ask yourself first is.

How low do you want to go?

there is a vendor on the sight avs john i think sells a beginer set up for $1000. where all you are doing is replacing springs for bags. there but like has been said how low do you want to go is a place local to me that sells a similar kit for the same price. they also advertise the kit installed for $2400.

Re: air ride suspensions for 60-66 suburbans

thanks for the input, but after checking out prices on air ride kits, installation and frame c-notching/new crossmember, i decided to buy a burb with the suspension work already done. just needs to be finished everywhere else(motor, trans, put the interior and glass back in) but it sits on the frame with the bags deflated. hopefully it will stay that way after everything is put back in it! can't wait to get started on it! let the parts hunt begin...
