Stock 454 with 3" exhaust, is it too much?

Somewhere down the line of previous owners a 454 was dropped into my 1973 Chevy c20. It originally came with a 350 but when the 454 was dropped in they changed the exhaust system to a 3" single pipe with one muffler and no cat. My question is, would a smaller pipe or smaller dual pipes help or hurt performance?

Single 3in. is perfect for a stock big block.

If it's stock, leave as is
