Question on tailgate molding

Actually 2 questions, first do they require drilling holes in the tailgate, and second is there any difference in quality as far as vendors? Thank you I try to search but cannot seem to find any info.

Re: Question on tailgate molding

Yes, holes are required, if you going with original trim. I would suggest Mar-K, they have great fit USA made trim. Picture of gate that was for sale on the parts board.

Re: Question on tailgate molding

Yes they do have holes drilled for the molding clips. My truck is a no trim factory truck but the tailgate I have off a 68 has the holes for the molding, I will throw a pic up for you to get an idea. As far as the molding itself, Mar-K in Oklahoma City has the best, and its American made.

Edit - kinda hard to see in the pic, but it only had the upper molding and the holes are basically even with the top edge of the tailgate handle.

Re: Question on tailgate molding

The factory assembly manual has good diagrams for layout of various holes/sizes.
