Re: 1972 gmc and 1955 trailer

I will try dig up some pics, but I must confess that we purchased the trailer from a nice guy from Enderby BC, he had a few trailers that were restored. I don't have enough time or skill to do a full resto on my own. I looked through your link, you did a great job, that interior was supper nice. I really liked your idea of a battery box up front. I have been sliding a heavy battery in and out of one of the storage bins in the rear of the camper, I think i might steal that idea.

Re: 1972 gmc and 1955 trailer

before I but the batteries and the tank up on the tongue, my tongue weight was around 100 lbs. (12 ft) not much of a drop. I know my big trailer drops 4" even with the stabilizing bars on it. 600 lbs (29 ft) tongue weight
I know that really didn't answer your question. But it give you an idea of the drop.

I'm holding out for a pair of original Scotty caps, very rare and very expensive.

Re: 1972 gmc and 1955 trailer

Someday I hope to post an image in this type thread.
I have a 1948 Cub Tear Drop trailer. It needs to be completely redone, including body damage. But I love the little Tear Drop Trailers.
This is what Mine looks like, but in way worse shape.

Man.... Your prowler looks awesome too. You repainted it right??

I love lookin at vintage trailers. The Scotty is killer too. We originally wanted a sportsman, but wound up with our deville. In the end they are all really cool.

Here is a link, if it works from the for sale ad of our trailer. Its cool googling 58 deville trailer and seeing your own rig in the images.

I love your set up. truck and trailer well done. These turn heads. not a $50 000 truck and a $50 000 trailer.

Those pics were from the classified add. The seller painted the trailer to match his studebaker.

We do camp quite often in it, which is why if you see the trailer in person there are quite a few scratches and dings. Oh well, we didn't buy just to look at it in the driveway. We are pulling it with this, but someday hopefully the k2500 can do the job.
