Newbie with a 71' C/10 Stepside oil question.
Howdy,
Been a big fan of GM truck forums over the years with the modern trucks so why not join another to ask questions about my newest addition. Just bought a 1971 C/10 stepside. It has a 355 taken out of a 63' Impala rebuilt with 6k on motor. My first question is with all the modern motor oils out there (synthetics, blends, conventional) what would you guys suggest I run in her? I have used Amsoil & Mobil 1 in my street and off road bikes, have a 2014 GMC Sierra that uses Dexos, but have no clue what weight oil or type to use. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appeciated! Ryan |

I prefer synthetic in everything. Out of the synthetics I prefer either Amsoil or Royal Purple. 10w30 should be fine if the engine is tight.
