Body Panels - Quality, Price

Looking for advice on quality and pricing of body panels from your experiences. I am looking to order all panels, tailgate etc. for a complete shortbed fleetside, 72 GMC. Thanks in advance.

Re: Body Panels - Quality, Price

New body parts almost all come from Asia and are made by few, and sold by many distributors. Quality or correctness of fit varies. Not sure why you want all new parts but there are lots of used GM parts around and most will suggest buying good used over aftermarket. Body lines are never as crisp as originals, doors and fenders are famous for being wrong.
I guess MB means Manitoba and I've heard of trouble at the border with parts. Sorry.

I got my Short wide box from Bill's Truck Shop, they are Woodall parts and are very nice.

Re: Body Panels - Quality, Price

my short bed is all aftermarket
the fenders, head board, and floor are nice
but I'll never buy an aftermarket tailgate again
POS, bent when I sat on it(220#), and thin. Even sounded thinner than everything else

It weighed 47lbs BTW. I haven't weighed my original yet, but a friend weighed his (different scale now) and it came in at 54lbs. I can update with my scale later.

No personal experience, but have read on here many times the lettered ones are much better

I've had great luck with tri-plus. I just got a new set of rear tubs from mid canada in winnipeg. They were tri-plus.... With good mark stickers on top of the tri-plus stickers. Reg at Walkers in wpg told me a while back that goodmark doesn't stamp any panels themselves anymore.

Re: Body Panels - Quality, Price

Walker Auto Parts in Winnipeg seems to be not to bad, bought a new floor for my cab from there seems to be good quality.
