inexpensive, heavy duty, SBC Aluminum Waterpump (STANDARD ROTATION)

Small Block Chevy Aluminum Waterpump. This waterpump has been identified as STANDARD ROTATION. See Below. The Tech Data was sent to me directly from AIRTEX. It is listed in ROCKAUTO as AW1121HX. The price is approximately $44. Can't beat the price.

Airtex part# Hub height Housing Impeller type Rotation
AW1121HX 176.15 (6.94in) Aluminum 6 Vanes Standard

I installed one in my 65 Nova with a 406. works GREAT...

Should mention it's a long style pump.

Since all these trucks take a short pump for proper belt line up.

Do they have one for a short style pump?

I should have been more descript.
the aw1121hx fits a lot of applications for SBC's to include 77 to 87 chevy pickups with SBC's

67-72 takes an aw898hx and is higher in price, but is aluminum. $79

73-76 takes an aw1109h which is heavy duty, but not aluminum. $38

use the application guide and ROCKAUTO rocks on prices, but not always on returns.

Re: inexpensive, heavy duty, SBC Aluminum Waterpump (STANDARD ROTATION)

I personally wouldn't shop for the cheapest water pump especially not in a v belt application. The bearings in the cheaper pumps are garbage and usually fail quickly. I personally wouldn't use anything airtex makes. Their stuff isn't exactly high quality. Gmb makes good water pumps and supplies a lot of the stuff. I would go with a quality American brand in an aluminum pump.

Guess you have to use what works for you. The last one I installed has been on my 350hp 406 with no problems for 2 years.

Heavy Duty means they use better bearings and impellers. I researched it a bit before buying...

But you have to use what you are comfortable with.

I will definitely buy them again...
