Lmc

I just got their catalog, very detailed.Anyone can share their experiences, good or bad with this outfit. They have a chromed rear step bumper for the fleetside trucks that I'm interested in.Any of the vendors that post on this site have this bumper?HF

Their prices are Notoriously Higher than most vendors ... slow shipping ...I personally have had bad luck with the quality of their sheetmetal parts. The only good think I have to say about LMC is they have a nice catalog with lots of "exploded views."

I'm sure Tim Christian and GMC Paul both have rear bumper kits.

Question

I bought some sheet metal parts that were not the greatest but managed to get them to fit.So I bought some from the other vendors and they were just the same as LMC had to cut and bend to make them fit allso. As far as there performance parts don't bother u can get the same thing from Summit or jegs or checkers for alot less.

You could try Chevy Duty. I've had a good experience with them. They too have a magazine - but it is more like just lists than pictures. Try them at www.chevyduty.com If they don't have what your looking for, I'm sure Summit or some other auto part catalog could get it.

I just received two mirrors from LMC and was happy with the catalog, price and delivery. I looked for those 73-84 small chrome mirrors in different catalogs and feel the price was fair. I paid 29.95 each, they are chrome(metal) reprodutions(Taiwan) with all mounting hardware and rubber gasket. I compared prices to classic industries oem>(64.25) and Cheyenne Parts oem>(129.00set) Just one experience to date.

I bought a reporduction convex mirror so I could see out of the passenger side mirror (stock one sucks - Didn't origionally come with a convex, they put those on vans.) from them. The mirror looks like stock but the gasket was not up to original quality. It looks like it doesn't belong on that mirror. I have had a good experience otherwise.

I have bought a few things from them with no problems. I do most of my business from them but they are close enough to go pick things up. Don't know about the bumper!

great catalog !!! kinda slow on the shipping side of things ....

chevyduty is alot cheaper but there catalog kinda sucks ..... so my suggestion .... use lmc catalog to decide what you want and then buy it through chevyduty or summit

Man that catalog is better than any repair reference or restore reference. Very detailed on how things go back to together I use it instead of anything else.

I called once to see who manufactured their ball joints. I got the run around and finally, after two days, was told that they couldn't say. Poor customer service, very nice catalog.

I started buying from LMC in October, 2002. No problems, and most pieces came in less than one week. I could not have replaced some dash components without their catalog. I may try a front bumper from Tim Christian or GMC Paul. I have had much more trouble with Cragar rims, but that is another story for another time.

Stay away from cosmetic parts, they dont seem to do very well in this class. Some of the finishes are cheap, inconsistant, or just plain dont line up. I have ordered a few times from them, and everything cosmetic has always been poor quality. In other words anything you look at on a regular may not be up to your standards of quality. Just my personal expierence.

I buy from them once in a while just to support the great catalog. Those exploded views have helped me on more than one occasion.

Talking

Bought things from LMC and so far so good. They have been very cooperative in returns, even when I goofed. Their prices on some items are high as compared to same things sold at Summit or Jegs. Chevy Duty has been good too, but they have a lot of backorders whenever I order from them lately. They even made good on a mistake they made on their catalog and with the return shipping back and forth, I don't think they made any money out of me on that deal.

I have dealt with LMC on about a dozen occasions and have been very happy. There shipping has been quick usually under 4 days. They do not have a tech department and that kind of sucks if you have a part in question. Pleased overall.

Yeah, the hat fits...but it is less than 2 years old and falling apart. (that don't stop me from wearign it though)
The first thing I bought from them was a glove box liner advertised as 'on sale'. When i got the part 3 weeks later (!!!!) there was also a bill in there for 5 more bucks. They claimed my catalog was out dated and that sale was over months ago.
I had recieved the catalog in the mail the same day I ordered the glove box.

Just my experience, but I have replaced a good bit of stuff on my truck with parts from LMC and so far I have had good luck. I decided to buy from them because this is the first 67-72 truck I have owned and their catalog was a great help.

They have alot of parts that are harder to find. Everything is in one place. The catologs are REALLY helpful, prices are WAY to high. Dont order from them unless you have to.
