Frame question

Currently I have a 67 long bed torn completly down.I have the cab off the frame.

I am currently working on the cab.

Then I have to put it on a frame. There is a shortbed 4wd chevy in the paper for a 700 bucks. It has no title. It also has a lift.It is a 73-87.I can't remember the exact year.

Are the mounts the same I could put my cab and front clip on this chassis. There is a truck in town that is wrecked and it is a 72 on a 73-87 long bed 4wd chasiss.

I don't know why but a 67 shortbed with a 33 boggers a torquey 408 and a 4 speed sounds good to me.

what were you gonna do before you saw the frame in the paper? just rod it? I say you should sit down and plan it out some. If you want a 4x4, plan it out a little more. Personally, I don't care for when ppl slap a non 73-87 body on a 73-87 frame, but that's because I agree with CPNE a bit. It all boils down to what you want, I am going back to my previous statement "Plan it out."
And have fun too. Whatever you build will be cool because you built it yourself.

Yeah I found a 71-72 frame with the disk brakes and 5 lug for 250 bucks at a scrap yard.I was going to drop it and put that 408 and a th350 with a nice stall convertor,4:10's,e/t streets, etc, etc.

Right now I am just tossing idea's around.I know I could get rid of that body to that truck real easily and almost make all of my money back.

I also don't care for it when someone does that.I prefer a 67-72 to be all 67-72.Except for some things like disc brakes off a 73-up or small things like sway bars or something. That's what makes fixing these old trucks up fun.All the different options you can go with.

You might check with Mudder67, he's got a later model frame under his 67 4x4
