Re: 1961 fresh air vents

Hmm. I only need the passenger side vent. Would you take $40 shipped (to 59254) for just the one?

Re: 1961 fresh air vents

Are these off a GMC? they appear to have grey knobs which are GMC specific. All Chevy trucks had black ones. If these knobs are grey and have white T's in the center, I'll take them - text me though because I am leaving for Florida in the AM

Re: 1961 fresh air vents

if these are off a 60-61 GMC and have the grey knobs, do you have all the other grey knobs like choke, cig lighter, ashtray, and deluxe heater 4 knobs?

They're off of a gmc, I'm talking with vetnat about one, but I may have an extra set on some parts trucks.

Re: 1961 fresh air vents

And therein lies my point - if VETNAT does not know these are unique to 60-61 GMC trucks and are NOT correct for his Chevy truck, then you are about to sell him the wrong part - he needs BLACK chevy knobs if he has a Chevy, and others like myself need GREY GMC specific ones for GMC trucks

Re: 1961 fresh air vents

I believe that's up to him on whether he wants it for his truck. So if he wants the one from this set then he will get it. If he wants chevy ones, I'll dig a set up. Plain and simple.

Re: 1961 fresh air vents

yes - important to give your buyers all the facts up front - so now at least he knows there is a difference and reason to choose the corrrect type over the incorrect type

Re: 1961 fresh air vents

I'm not hidin facts from anyone. I personally didn't know any difference. Not sure if he does either. Personally I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between old grey knobs and old faded black ones. So that's all news to me. I've contacted him so we will see

Can you post a pic of the knobs on the vents? Here is a pic of the driver's side vent knob in my truck, a Canadian 1961 GMC.

VETNAT, you can use whatever knobs you want in your truck - its your truck. Canadian built GMC trucks used the same Black knobs American built 60-63 Chevy and 62-66 GMC trucks used as you see in your own pictures so technically the Grey molded plastic 60-61 American GMC knobs are not correct on your truck. If DKARST doesn't have the black ones from a early Chevy or mid 60's GMC others may and they are of course reproduced too.

Thank you 1960Chevypanel - as much as I love coming to CA I don't know if you'll ever get me on one of those damn boards though - too many sharks and the water is ice cold! LOL

So the cables I need have to be off a 1960 GMC which not only has a grey plastic knob vs black, but also has a white "V" in the center of the knob - 1961 GMC knobs do not have the white V in the center - same with Chevy 60 vs 61 knobs.....so I need some cables w/ knobs in tact that have the white T's - can you hook a brotha up? Need some deluxe heater grey knobs too - specificially the "HEAT" knob
