head gasket
wanting to lower my compression a bit and seen https://www.summitracing.com/parts/f...make/chevrolet
and noticed 1 the bore size and 2 the steam holes in the gasket. Is this to much for the bore on a 383 stroker? and can I use it with the steam holes in it? |

The 4.166 bore gasket is the one you want on that 4'"+.030 bore engine. I would ask a few questions, before I advise? can you give a run down on comp ratio, deck clearance, cam specs, ect. ? Longhorn

Crazy Longhorn asked some good questions.
Also, what is the reason for wanting to lower your compression? Sometimes, using a thicker head gasket will actually make an engine more prone to pre-ignition because of the increased "quench height". If you already have a pre-ignition problem, perhaps optimizing ignition advance curve can help.
