Last couple of days I noticed a "Chirping" noise coming from the rear of the truck. when I speed up it chirps faster and when I slow down it chirps slower. rear wheel bearings?? ideas plz..

68 chevy LB CCS 2wd 350 sb. also I just noticed it today when I kick it in ass to go It feels like the truck is roasting but it is not. I have big ass tires. I would have to major power break to light them up. any ideas on these 2?

Not sure what the chirping is, but I drove up to Oroville last week to pick up a GREAT roll pan from one of your neighbors. Small home business, and he had a (69 I think) dragging the frame at the side of his house...and a HUGE engine build up in his garage.

Hope you figure out what the chirping is.

now the noise stopped. wtf? I am thinkingthe brakes. if one of the brake pads is over adjusted woudl that make applying the brake harder then normal pull to say the right of left?

My vote is for the u-joints too.

It might have been the rear brake. You wouldn't notice it pulling from the rear brakes. You might have noticed it locking up one of the wheels in the rain though. Really only notice brake pull on the front wheels unless it's really bad.

I'd wonder if you had a part fall off one of your rear brake assemblies. I would pull the drums and have a look at it.

my carrier bearing made a similar noise to what you are describing and it went away

I would start with the drive line. It's not too expensive:
Heavy duty (these have grease fittings)U-Joints= 10.00 Need 3
Carrier bearin=15.00
Just make sure you mark everything so the driveshaft stays balanced.
