Politics explained
My son was flunking out of college so I told him he would marry the girl I choose. He said no. I told him the girl was Bill Gates’ daughter. He said yes. I called Bill Gates and said I want your daughter to marry my son. He said no. I said my son is the CEO of the World Bank. Bill said ok. I called the president of World Bank and asked him to make my son the CEO. He said no. I said my son is Bill Gates’ son in law. He said ok.
And that is exactly how politics works here in America. And thus began the practice of hiring morons in influential positions of government too. The practice is unbroken to this day.

Re: Politics explained
Unfortunately we are seeing this play out. We all knew it happened, but never seen the workings of how simple it was. I guess I'm getting old when I have simpathy for the youth of this mess. They are young and stupid, what about the parents?

Re: Politics explained
There's too much truth in it to be a political post. I'd rank it as a general statement made in a humorous manner. Funny!!

Re: Politics explained
Yep, it doesn't address any actual political issues in regards to the form of politics that specifically comprise the management our government, which is what the "no politics" rule refers to. As the post demonstrates, there are other forms of politics, such as workplace, family, truck club... any organized group of people.

Re: Politics explained
Government is basically by the rich, for the rich. There once was a concept of noblesse oblige (forgive the spelling) which meant the nobles (ruling class) were obliged to somehow care for the poor or less advantaged. Not much of that going on today. Also while the concept exists, I'm not sure anyone ever attempted to help the less privileged.

Uncle Kracker has his Yosemite Sam look on the wrong side of his lip. Whoops, I forgot, looney tunes is no longer politically correct.

Re: Politics explained
lol....very few things funnier these days than those old 1950's & 1960's cartoons with mel blanc, looney tunes, some foghorn leghorn etc.
Absolutely, wonderfully distant from modern political correctness, which I deplore..... lol .... All good Coley
