U-joints
Do Ford, Chevy, Dodge 1/2 ton all use the same u-joints?
How about for 3/4 ton?

Re: U-joints
No..there is no one size fits all....there may be some that might work on more than one application though

Re: U-joints
You can cheat a bit by looking up the U joint for the rig you are looking for on Rock Auto or O'Reilly's sites and either clicking on the blue part number on the rock auto site or compatibility on O'Reilly's and seeing what else they fit but even those numbers won't be exact.
Chevrolet/GM treats us pretty good as the choices are usually small or large depending on the engine and drive train. = if it has this it has this and if it has that it has that. From experience Ford tends to have far more variables in things like U joints and there is no thinking that because it is a ____ it has a ____ . Dodge I don't have a lot of experience with except for some that needed U joints in a shop I worked in and that was carry the show and tell piece and info on the truck to the parts house on the other end of the building (I worked in the tire shop in one end and there was a tractor shop on the other end and a Napa store in the middle. Never had to leave the building to go get parts. There are a couple of U joints that are pretty common between Chevy and Ford though.
