NV4500 Fluid
Getting ready to install NV4500 in Suburban, and need to add trans fluid. The original manufacturer recommended fluid is no long made, and old supplies of it are hard to find.
Back in 2017 member “LockDoc” posted the following information on fluid for NV4500s in this thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=673588 Quote:
Lots of lubricant technology improvements in last few years. Thinking of using the following Mobile Delvac lub, recommended by a NV4500 rebuilder. It is a GL4 rated lub, and specifically discusses yellow metal corrosion protection. Note: needs to be this exact name, for GL4. Last edited by LockDoc; 01-23-2021 at 09:11 PM. |

I bought my last couple of bottles at my local GM dealer because I needed some in a hurry. Yeah, it was pricey.... LockDoc

Re: NV4500 Fluid
I just looked at the Valvoline catalog. They recommend Synchromesh for the NV4500. I think Pennzoil calls it Synchromax.
