Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

In a couple of days Ill have been on the board 19 years. I have a hard time remembering what I did last week much less 19 years ago haha!

My guess is that I was looking for info on my first truck that fits the board 71K10. Back then everything loaded so slowly ... tic tic tic tic tic tic tic (dial up) tic tic.

I was searching for info on my current truck (69 K10). Every time I googled something this was always the first site that came up. So I just started coming straight here. Glad I did, I have learned a ton since then!

Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

Back around 99/2000 there was a site I belonged to called Blazernet or Wolfsden. A site pretty much for any year Blazer and a lot of guys had Chevy trucks. The owner of that site shut it down so I started looking for something comparable to it.....came across this one and have been here since.

Thumbs up Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

Pretty much like everyone else. Looking for info on my truck in 1999 Finding this site is the one of the best things I ever did. And have recommended it to many over the years. Thanks to all the members who provide valuable input to questions asked here.

Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

It seems the huge volume collected here of information about 1969 Chevy trucks makes this site come up more often on search engines. When I got my truck I didn't even know what model it was, or that there were choices of models, didn't even know it was considered a 1/2 ton truck. I didn't know what the range of years were for the body style, or that there were enthusiasts and forums. I didn't know there were vendors for parts other than what is offered at the car parts stores.

Once I gathered enough information from here to kind of know a little bit about what I was working with, I wanted to ask questions and contribute what I find out, so I signed up. I've been learning.

I keep an eye on the questions that never get answered and are particularly puzzling.
Some facts are being lost to obscurity. But chances are if a question is going to have an answer it will be on this forum.

Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

Same here, I don't exactly remember how I got here, it's been awhile but I hooked up with this forum soon as I found it, that much I remember. Full of good knowledge, good stories and of course seeing one cool truck after another. Whether a project or complete, it's a never ending forum to me, Thanks to all that make this forum what it is.

Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

I don't remember how I found the site. I have loved these trucks ever since my dad bought a new 68 C10 and then a new 69 C10 and I bought a new 72 Cheyenne C10 when I was still under age to sign for it.

1976 to 1980 was the only period when I didn't own at least one or our trucks.

The amazing thing is that I have survived here, because I like to agitate and argue. This is, hands down, the best site on the net for these trucks.

Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

I had finished up having my 65 GTO restored and I kept noticing every month that, with the GTO bills not coming in, my checking account balance was growing uncomfortably fast. I was pretty nervous about that, but I knew after my experience with the GTO that I could quickly nip that issue in the bud by acquiring another older vehicle to throw money at. So I started looking for old Chevy 4x4’s and signed up.

Then I bought my 72 K10, we had two kids and my wife quit her job. I haven’t had any problems with my bank account balance getting too big in a long time!

That bears repeating! I don't see you as that much of an agitator. Maybe that was true when you joined?

I guess that I ought to add that I joined after the wife and I inherited this truck, and I was looking for like-minded individuals.

Cool Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

I used to subscribe to a magazine called Classic Trucks magazine (maybe some of you have heard about it) in high school (mid 2000's) and, in like every other issue there was a slick 67-72 C/10 on the cover or in the magazine. Wow what I wouldn't give to have a cool badass classic Chevrolet truck someday I would think. I really was into the squares at the time but, they weren't considered classics yet. Long story short I received my 1970 C/10 as a graduation gift to restore in and during college and, went to look up info about my truck. Well every time I tried looking up info I was directed here so I decided to give this site a shot. Boy I'm glad I did and, this site doesn't just have info or parts for our 67-72 trucks blazers and burbs but, if you own an 88 C3500 Cheyenne Chassis cab you can find parts or info too, an early 42 wartime special? yes, a 13 Silverado 2500HD Duramx crew cab? yes, a truck powered by an 8V92 Detroit or a big block GMC V6? of course. Don't know if I could restore (Zooey) my C/10 without this site.

Re: Lets review - How did you come across this site?

I was looking to buy a truck, so I ended up in the Trucks For Sale forum first.

I found the site a little confusing to navigate, I was never part of a forum before, so I ended up at "Page 301": trucks that were for sale 10 years prior.

After exploring a little more I figured it out. Finally became a paid member just this month when I realized that I owed it to the site that had given me so much information and enjoyment over the years.

Bought my first C10 at age 52 in 2001. Surfing the net looking for truck info I came across this site in November 2003 and been here ever since. I feel this site is a significant part of my life now and plan to be here forever. Pics are of my first truck when I bought it and pics were scanned from a 35mm pic.

Is that a Canadian truck?

If I remember right - that's a factory color?
