Re: Stepside 50th anniversary truck on Ebay

Seriously doubt that's a 50th. No lower trim or lower white paint. Looks just like my '68 longbed. Would have to see the original glove box ID tag to see if it had the correct option codes.

My .02 worth.

Re: Stepside 50th anniversary truck on Ebay

its still there. the link i added to the original post isn't working.
Stepside trucks were not avalible with lower or upper trim, nor in two tone.
However, this truck is in it's (claimed) original paint, and the right color, it has the white door panels, and the gold dash pad

Plus, if you squint, you can make out the option codes.

551 and 625 (cloth seat(s) make it a 625)
The seat has been redone, but this looks to be the real deal.
I always knew they made them, just never saw the proof. till now.

it even looks sexy

This is one of my (many) dream trucks... if I only had the cash

Re: Stepside 50th anniversary truck on Ebay

Seat has been recovered but that body really looks straight. I am pretty certain the '68 50th I saw in Seattle had white on the bottom but I don't recall the seat material, Custom or CST or anything else. It was in the Good Guys show here a couple of years ago. I could not find the owner to get it opened and see the SPID. Forgot my camera

I don't think that the 350 was available until '69.

Okay, I'm confused... I was under the impression that 50th models had the white along the bottom. Was it only stepsides that did not get that?

Well it was in the Camaro's just not too sure it came in the trucks. Sure is a sweet truck, looks just like the one I started out with when I was 16 short stepper w/spare tire holder, except mine was not nearly as nice or cool as this one is!!

Re: Stepside 50th anniversary truck on Ebay

OK truck experts---look at the picture of the underside--lower left corner---is that a vertical seam in the inner rocker panel? Never saw one of those before. And according to my info--69 was the first year for a 350 in a small truck! Me thinks more was done here then reveled--welcome to E-BAY. Be careful~~

Maybe a rocker replacement? It shows some rust bubbles as well? I don't see the seller advertising it as a 50th we are guessing it might be?

It's a CE Vin with no optional engine on the SPID, so original engine was a 307. Could still be a 307 with Edelbrock intake, carb and dress up. I think this person was told its a 350, but does not know for sure.

As for the seam, it looks like a 'drip" to me (undercoating, road crud. etc)

Looks legit to me, just an uninformed seller

Thats not a seam. That is a stamped impression for water drainage from the rocker.

I just went out into the driveway and looked at my 68. Same thing.

At 3:50 pm today i am the high bidder at $3600

Reserve not met. I would pay $4000 for it.

Re: Stepside 50th anniversary truck on Ebay

why does anyone doubt this?
It has the right option codes
On the spid it gives the model number for a stepside
stepsides never got side trim nor body side two tone
The onlything missing, is the original seat cover as far as 50th stuff goes.
The 350 part may well be bad info on his behalf... or it may have had the engine swapped out, either way, it's still a one of very few 50th annv stepside trucks.
