Eagle Alloys 225 Wheel
Eagle Alloy released a new wheel called the 225 with a 5/5 bolt pattern in a 20x10 (5.5 bs) and 20x8.5 (4.5 bs). The wheels look damn good and cost less than $300 per wheel shipped. I decided to give them a try. It took me a while to find a set. Finally found them at a place in Illinois http://www.deltatirequincy.com/?PageData=52657
I also called Summit since they sell EA wheels. They are not on their website but they will take a phone order. Their price is $100 higher than Delta. When they come in I'll post pics and provide my opinion.

Re: Eagle Alloys 225 Wheel
I really like those. And that is a great price too. Are there any fitment issues?

One thing that I will note: My rear wheels are 20x10 with 5.75" backspacing with a later wide 5 lug axle. With 315/35/20 and the airbags deflated I have <1/16" clearance to the inner wheel wells (sitting on airbag bumpstops). With .25" less back spacing these wheels on my truck would surely touch. Now with a narrower tire it may not be an issue. You may also have the same problem with the front tires too (there are a couple of variables there) Just thought I'd pass on my word of caution if you are low and have wide tires. |

One thing that has crossed my mind is hub clearance. This is the same manufacture that makes the Boss 338 and that wheel had a hub clearance problem. It's supposedly fixed but some folks are still experiencing the problem.

Re: Eagle Alloys 225 Wheel
Subscribed. I was going to fork out the dough for some Intros, but these look nearly the same and will save me $1500 (assuming they work)... I'm all about that.

Re: Eagle Alloys 225 Wheel
Let's just hope there are no fitment issues. I've been looking for a set of wheels for my '72 forever but all the decent ones (that everybody and their brother doesn't already have) either don't fit right (Boss 338s) or are $3k+ (ahem, Intro Vistas), so if these 225s pan out I think I'm going to be on them like ugly on rice, I've got the bags mounted already and I think I can stomach 20s instead of 22s as long as it rides low and goes fast.

Re: Eagle Alloys 225 Wheel
The wheels shipped on Friday and will be in on Wed. They'll probably get in late. On Thur I will take them up to the body shop to test the fitment w/o tires. If everything looks good I will mount the Toyo's the same day. I hope of have pics of the truck by Friday. Truck should be together and primered, ready for paint.

Re: Eagle Alloys 225 Wheel
The wheels got in today and man are they beautiful!!! I'm stoked about the purchase!! I really wanted the Intros but couldn't stomach the price! With these I get the same look for a price less than Coys!
They got in late so it will be tomorrow before I can get them to the body shop to test fitment. I will send my update tomorrow evening. I wanted to take a pic in full sun but it's kinda cloudy today. You can still see how good they look.

Re: Eagle Alloys 225 Wheel
Today I went to the body shop to test fit the wheels on my truck. Tires were not on the wheels so I could return them if there was a problem. I was only concerned with the fronts. I was afraid they would need grinding like their Boss 338s.
We jacked up the truck, pulled the rally wheel and slid on the 225. Fit like a glove! No issues at all Took a step back to take in the view and man they look HOT!! I can't wait to see these on my painted truck!! Unfortunately it will be 4 weeks before I get her back. Tomorrow I will have the Toyo Proxes mounted on the wheels and put them in the garage with the other new parts. Until she comes home I'll spend my off time playing Modern Warfare 2 online..just made Captain!

How long are your front hubs? Mine are like 2 3/4"s long. If yours are the same length, did the center cap fit? Thats my concern. What do you play MW2 on? |
