Instrument Panel And Park lights Not Working
I have a 1985 GMC Suburban 3/4 Ton with the 454. Just this past week my headlights went out, i went to replaced the headlight switch, hooked up the connector and turn the key to run and pulled the knob to turn on the lights and heard a pop. Took it back and got another one, installed it (works, didn't pop) but didn't turn my lights on. Replaced the dimmer switch and fixed the headlights. Headlights are on and my brake lights still work, but my parking lights (front and rear), dash lights DO NOT work. I checked fuses and wiring, all looks good. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Instrument Panel And Park lights Not Working
I think I would do some probing. Find out where things perform as expected (voltage appears on meter when switch pulled, etc.)
At a guess -- you now have a bad connection someplace... possible cause by whatever was wrong in the first switch.

Re: Instrument Panel And Park lights Not Working
UPDATE:
Fixed the park lights and intrument panel lights. Didn't notice that my brake lights were out. I double checked my fuses and noticed i must of missed 2. both were blown, replaced both and now my park lights and intrument panel lights work. My brake light circuit fuse blew when i put my foot on the brake. I'm going to check the brake light circuit and see whats going on. |
