Cool My '69 C-10 First Truck Project!

Alright guys, posted all this in the regular forum and I wanted it in the build one to start me off. I'm new to the site, and have been wanting to share with you all my project. I'm almost 16 and I have decided I want a '69 C-10 for my first vehicle. As of now I have the old bed off and in scrap because of it's bad shape, and have bought a parts truck ('69 LWB) to replace some body parts. Well turns out, $500 later, I have a LWB 1969, with a 350 that was rebuilt 19 yrs ago and then the truck was put in a barn. Fired it up today, Runs like a champ, and the inside of the block looks like I just pulled it out of a crate. So I have a nice 350 for my SWB. Wanted to give you guys an idea of my project my dad and I started a month ago. I'll have pictures soon! Any questions or suggestions, please let me know!

Good luck man! it's a lot of fun! and I got my first C10 when I was 15 also. It was a 70 LWB, it's changed a little now but still the same old truck! This is a great board and everyone here will be willing to help, all you need to do is ask!

Re: My '69 C-10 First Truck Project!

Guys, I have a quick question. I bought a truck for parts and it had a complete, working gauge cluster. I'm replacing the cracked and faded bezel. However. The needles on the gauges are faded pretty bad. It probably wouldn't bother me but its orange on one side and faded on the other. Does anyone know, 1) If you can change the needles. 2) How hard, and how to do it. 3) and where can I get the needles? Thanks !

Another thing, on my truck, How hard is it to un wire, remove firewall cover, install new firewall cover, and re-wire underneath the dash and the firewall area.

Hey the firewall wiring isn't to bad, just mark everything from where you unhook/ take it off. It will all go back where it came from! lol
