Mine and Grandpas c10

Hey all, been a lurker for awhile and just recently joined. I've posted a few things here and there but thought I'd share a few more pics etc. Anyway, nothing too crazy but this truck originally was owned by my Grandpa. He had it for as long as I can remember and as a kid I would always tell him we needed to fix it up. He used it to haul scrap metal and just toy around his land in it. After finally convincing him to sell it to me, he said I was the only one he'd ever sell it to due to the fact that I would take care of it, I picked it up with no drivers side door glass and the freeze plugs laying underneath it. I started playing with it a bit before my move back to Texas but not much was done before he passed in September of 2009. I made him a promise that one day it would be *****in, so I had to stick to it. Thanks to the love and understanding of my amazing wife and kids, I was able to spend countless hours in the garage and way too much money but by God, I did it!! Ok enough about the truck on to the pictures.

The blue pic isn't actually mine. But its really close to what it looked like. The black primer was shortly after I got it

My little garage buddy was there almost every night, sometimes even sneaking down after bedtime. Passing the torch!

PPG crosses to 917976, 2009-11 Corvette. I see the code on the original post now sorry .. Beautiful color. Was it tough to spray (is it a pearl or larger metallic?)

It wasn't too bad at all. Its a pearl but covered pretty well for a bright color. I was pretty pleased with it.

Sweet truck and I like that blue, you did an awesome job and getting your little man involved is a big thing, they grow up way too fast. My little guy is 6 and loves to get in and get dirty.

Jay Leno says that all the time. He says take your kid to a car show, let them work with you or this dies! Sometimes my son kicks and screams about cleaning the rims again, but hey he knows cars and the importance of a man fixes what he owns. Nice seats, leather? katskin?

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Nice work on the door panels. Can you elaborate on what you did to make these? Did you upholster them yourself too?

Thanks, their actually super simple. I took two pieces of "finishing plywood" from home depot. Not sure if that's what its called but its like 1/8" thick. I bought them in 4x4 sheets. I cut the first to the size of the full door panel then the second to the shape I wanted on the bottom, a little gorilla glue later and they were ready to be upholstered. I didn't do any of the upholstery it was done at a local shop. Used 3 sheets total.
