Die-cast 67-72

Made a suggestion about a Die-cast forum.
LIZ say's to start it here and see what happens so if you like playing with toy trucks please do it here.
I'll start with mine and see how it goes.

Here is one I built out of a JADA metal truck.
I put a wooden bed and used the outside trim for the bed strips. I put a set of 24" on the back and 20" on the front. Shaved all the emblems off and painted it pearl red. The wheel disc I made myself.

This Orange one I used a JADA truck and redid the doors, hood.

The black and silver was a proto type just seeing if I could fit the chassis under it. I think it worked out well.

This is a wix filter blazer I just added the wheels to.

Got the panel off of E-Bay a few years ago and had to modify it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Most of these pic's are a little old too. I like the idea of a diecast forum, but my experience has been that when I've posted my diecast, it really doesn't get much of a response, now I'm not trying to be negative, but that's just my experience.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

FleetsidePaul,
Where did you find the roll back or did you make it? That is sweet I will have to look at making one of those.
The pictures I posted are just what I have out where I can see them. I have hundreds of Die-Cast & Hotwheels stored. When I get the time to build the shelves in the garage I'm going to display all of them.

I'm always looking for new stuff also, so if anybody has extra's and wants to trade or buy LMK.
KEEP THE PICTURES AND INTEREST GOING!

Re: Die-cast 67-72

There are other forums here that see little traffic. If this was made as a sub-forum from the general, it would see some use. It would be nice to find the new stuff or unusual old stuff with the click of a button. I have subscribed to a few threads and just keep them available for reference. Anyway, here are fresh pics of my collection. I have one Hwy 61 model, the yellow one, that is not pictured here. And I have the blue "country kids" truck also.

BTW, my wife collects Pez dispensers, so I started collecting the Pez die-cast. I just got the 50th aniversary set last week.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Here is a cabinet in my bedroom that houses some of my 1/64 stuff. These are loose cars and trucks I have at least 2 of.

Here is a few close ups.

This display is on top of my dresser.

Heres a few older issues. The Chevy is a longbed so if you wanted a short step Chevy you'd prolly have to buy 2 and put them together

Andy, I got that rollback off Ebay (and paid way too much for it)

Yea, I have. Probably here on the board somewhere, but I can't remember for sure. It was white with red blue stripes IIRC.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

The yellow and white one I have in the pictures is a JADA metal die-cast with a 55 chevy plastic bed mated to it. I couldn't find one either so I built that one.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I like the idea of a diecast section, especially if guys post their modified diecasts.

I've got three modified diecast Blazers. Two are the AMT kits painted to look like my Blazers (current and past) and one WIX in progress as a slammed 2wd conversion. The rest of my diecast are all straight off the shelf. I'll post some pics in a bit, firs I've got to find the camera.

Gas stations, walmarts, etc. Just need to find a place that is stocking it. Doesn't seem to be consistent anywhere. Sometimes they ahve it, sometimes not. I have another one not in the pics that is a 22 oz. About the same height as the other bottles, but fatter.

Here is my latest find, got it tonight at a little flea market:
