Need an axle!!
Lh rear axle is trashed. I have access to a 74 axle and a 70 axle. Will either of these fit my 4x4 72? Both are from 4x4's. Also will an 88 power steering box from a 4x4 blazer fit a 72 4x4 blazer? Will it be variable ratio? Thanks, J=moodyholler

moodyhollar,
If the 74 rear end is a 12 bolt 4x4 rear end the axle will fit. The 70 could have the shorter axles in it . If you measure between the backing plates and the measurement is the same as on your Blazer then the axles will fit. Jim |

Earl87gta,
What gear ratio is it? If it's 3.73, I might be interested if the price is right. |

74 shafts will work. You might want to get the 74 front axle shafts as well. they ran a larger u-joint and are stronger.
Steering box is a bolt on. It will be a nice upgrade. It's variable close ratio. Be carefull that first turn so you dont flip the truck.

thanks all!!!
I got it back together a little while ago and just went out for a run. Freind of mine had a brand new axle from a 79 and I put tit in. Earl, will be down that way on Sat. the 21 if all goes well. Mine does have the small u-joints in the front now. Will try to salvage 74 model axles and lay them up for future use. Thanks again for all the help. moodyholler
