Replacement dash lighting with pigtails
Just in case anyone else is like me and is rewiring the gauge cluster due to a ruined circuit board, I found replacement lighting sockets with pigtails (replace the twist lock sockets with terminals on the bottom) here:
http://www.hipoparts.com/bulb-socket...tic-or-rubber/ Took me a while to find these so I'm hoping this will help someone in the future. |

Re: Replacement dash lighting with LED
Has anyone replaced dash lights with LED's in a 72 chev. If so, what LED's were used and what color

Re: Replacement dash lighting with pigtails
Thanks for the link, filed it away in my build spreadsheet and will be doing this very soon. Pics of your work so far?

Re: Replacement dash lighting with pigtails
I'll try to get some up soon. I didn't take before pictures so there isn't a good reference point, but I swapped to LED's that I bought off of ebay and they are great.
I posted the replacement pigtails before I installed them. They will fit in the twist lock holes, but aren't a perfect fit and may require some additional silicone, etc. to secure them. |

Re: Replacement dash lighting with pigtails
I ordered these thinking they were the same ... nope too small for the 5/8" x 3/4" holes in the instrument cluster. Have you ordered any of the ones from hipoparts and can confirm they fit in these holes (bottom two specifically)?

Re: Replacement dash lighting with pigtails
Plastic version. Fairly happy with them other than the slight fit issue.

Re: Replacement dash lighting with pigtails
Ordered the rubber version listed there and the fit is pretty good, almost exact diameter fit but could be a hair snugger. Am confident they will not fall out.
