67 SWB Poor kid build

I got this truck when I was 16(im now 21) and it has been a money pit ever since, I have been trolling this fourm for a few years and have not made a post until now. I have this far done everything 100% by my self besides the paint.
Before i pulled it apart last june.

got my cab and fenders blasted

Got my porterbuilt stuff and 1/4 cheap manual valve stuff, I did not go all out on the suspension because I could simply not afford it.

I also attempted some metal/body work including most of the floor it did not come out to bad.

Got a boyd tank that fit 100% perfect!

I also built a mild 383 full roller, that im going to run with accels dfi fuel injection.

This is were im at right now, I have been having a bunch of wiring issues and motor is going on the dyno next sunday.

OEM radio I got at the local junkyard for 5$

Re: 67 SWB Poor kid build

That's great progress! I know exactly how you feel about simply not affording it. I'm actually trying to sell my 350/700R4 combo to get air management/suspension parts.
I'll worry about the vortec motor later.
Keep up the good work!

Re: 67 SWB Poor kid build

I know pictures can be decieving especialy from 15 feet but it looks like it was a nice truck to begin with.
I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done.
Porterbuilt parts are expensive to say the least so don't feel too bad about skimping on your air management system because you damn near have to be rich to go first class on everything.

Pretty difficult to install? I've been looking at some Tahoe seats from an 04 but I'm unsure as to how difficult it would be? Appreciate your response.

Re: 67 SWB Poor kid build

Easy, I just drilled some new holes, then welded some small square plate to run the bolts through to give them some more support.

I got my porterbuilt gas hood hinges in the mail today! Took me a few hours but they are on. Tommorow im going to set the hood down and get all my gaps were I want them, and then weld the brackets to the hood. And I put a nice big scratch in my firewall

Re: 67 SWB Poor kid build

Semi gloss black, I really want a color called moonrock metallic its a honda s2000 color. But i cant swing the cost of the paint, this truck has killed the bank account and forced me to live with my parents longer then expected lol.
