What's the best made Chrome valve covers?
I'm getting tired of polishing my billett valve covers and air cleaner lid. I know they never rust and are very heavy but I'm considering switching to chrome. My buddy swears by Moroso. I've seen Edelbrocks last a year or two before you need to replace them. I like the look of chrome better also. What's the best Chrome ones to buy for quality?. I don't care about the price. Thanks for any input........Jim

Get a Proform Chevrolet kit (it comes with covers, wing nuts, hold-down tabs, breather, grommets, dipstick, and wire looms), I have had mine for awhile and never polished them, and they look as good as when I got them. I got them from Scoggin-Dickey.

Proform claims to be heavier than most.

The best made chrome? None. Go with aluminum if possible they seal better, and if polished good, will no doubt out last chrome.

Ryan, that's what I have now. Very heavy Billet that have never leaked. But they oxidize. I may consider anodized or wrinkle finish.

Is there a heat-resistant clear coat that can be applied to new or freshly-polished aluminum valve covers to retain the luster?

you can buy chrome plated BILLET covers from Billet Specialties ... they aint cheap ... but you get the looks of polished billet without the hassle of having to polish it 3-4 times a year.

Ok I have a idea for you then seeing as you have the billet covers. Take them to get them bead blasted. Making sure that the person doinging it where cotton gloves, then blow them off good, and try that inodizing paint available at Autozone. I used it on my oil pan and it looks awsome.

The best chrome valvecovers? Why chromed ALUMINUM covers, of course. Buy a set of aluminum covers, and have them chromed.
The only way to fly. SC

I have a pair of tall Moroso's for sale if you like them. They have a 16 piece hold down set as well. $65.00 plus shipping.
These were hardly ever used and hung on the wall most of their life.
