Looking for some Info on Someones Truck - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

hello,

i found this silver Cheyenne someplace on the internet, not sure where but i found it.

anyways, what im trying to do is pretty much the same deal with the rims on my truck.. but would like to make the stance like this!!!! i photoshopped it to see how it looked. this is the look i have been wanting on my truck.

but on this truck of mine.

if someone could tell me who's truck this is of its its you truck im looking for the rim and tire sizes? im assuming they are 18's in the front and 20's in the rear? am i wrong? maybe thats to big..

please let me know if you guys have any info.

why not leave it alone and still have it ride decent and not look like a ghetto mobile? the bologna skin tires will make it ride like it has stone wheels and your truck looks good as it sits

Cable guy is sharing some wisdom here... If I WANTED A CAR OR PIMPMOBILE TO GET FUNKY WIT, I would do a pontiac or mommas excursion... to me a truck is supposed to be a truck, not a funky fresh ride........

Yeah I agree with everyone else, I don't see why anyone would like to make a beauty of a truck like that look like a pimpmobile, I guess it's the age..

its going to be lowered for sure.. i know that.. either a 3/6 or a 2/5 drop because i know it has a 3 inch rake from factory and they are orginal size springs.. it sits to high for me. like the lowered look.. not slammed or anything just so the wheels sit at the wheel well hight. and leveled out..

but those rims tempt me.. i really like that look..

would just like to find out who own's that truck.. looks like they left the factory high on it.. and i think with the larger rims on the back will make the rake even worse then it was before the new rims.

i love this style of truck.. was never really a truck type of person.. untill i saw these trucks.. love them.. i have never liked the jacked up 4x4 trucks or even the stock stance its just to high for me.

Well if I were you I would just lower the truck a little bit and keep the tires, i mean these trucks were not meant to be lowridin trucks with 24" tires, I'm not trying to be a wet towel or anything I was just trying to voice my opinion........

C'mon guys he's just may be younger than you guys. Let him mess with his own truck. I happen to like the look he's talking about. I'm not sure I'd go that low on the second pic though. If I was you I'd just drop your truck 2/4, this way you don't mess with the suspension too much and have to spend more money on stuff. You might be surprised and find out that your ralley's look pretty good on it.

I think ANY stance would look good with that truck! I kind of like either the first pic or the stock stance, though (but I'm an old guy). My new Silverado SS has 20" wheels. I thought they looked weird, at first. Now, I think the smaller wheels look weird on the Silverados. I guess it's what you get used to. Yours is definately one of the nicest looking trucks I've seen. I wish my '72 looked that good!! But, with buying the new truck, I can't afford to start the restoration right now. It's always something, you know?

Hey, nice truck man! My only advice would be create the truck that you like and the style that fits you best...you are the one who has to drive it by the way. The rims on that truck look like 17's in the front and 18" in the rear, but that is only a guess.

To start with you have a very nice looking truck. Looks to be unrestored survivior. I have seen the truck posted too. If I remember right it was posted by Rick or Shawn of Ricks Pickup Parts in AZ. He is a board vendor on here.

I might lower the rear end a little, but in my opinion, you have a damned nice truck the way it is.

the second pic looks best to me. why don`t you just put airbags in it then you could lower it or raise it to what ever height you want. nice truck by the way.

It's your truck, do what YOU want. Love them or hate them big wheels are going to be around for a while, these trucks don't have to be used as trucks anymore if we don't want them to. They did their time working. The guys are right though, big wheels with little sidewalls ride very rough, but the look is tough to beat.

i understand the lower pro tires are a rougher right.. but im not looking for something that rids like a cadillac.. i want something that looks amazing.. the rim's arent in the budget at the moment anyways but i am just getting ideas and things that i want to get done.. sometime. need to get the truck painted in the near future before much else.. i might get it lowered down before anything but for now i will just have to dream about it.

What's wrong with the paint as it is? Go back with factory if you have paint issues not seen in the pics.

I agree with some that posted here. I'd want to lower it some too, and put some fresh rims on it. I wouldn't go too extreme (2/4), and save all the old parts in case I'd want to go back to factory when the lowered craze has passed. You have a great looking truck.. keep us posted as to your 'improvements'.

I would go for it! Not every body wants a stock ride, so customize so it stand out. The truck your talking about has me drooling

PLavelle, ya i love that silver one for sure.. its got the same look as mine now.. solid colour with the upper and lower trim.. just need the rims.. to me it doesnt look like he lowered it any, but i photoshopped it in the bottom pic and it looks much better id say.

i hope i can do this on my truck, would really be nice.
