Hydro-boost Question
Has anyone done a swap into a 67-72?Can I use the original p/s gear on the truck?Are hose fittings a bolt-up?The hydro-boost is from an`86 diesel(6.2),what can I use for pump brackets on my 350?Do I need to find a 350 equipt 1-ton in the junkyard?Would the 6.2 brackets work,by chance????

Do you have power steering now? If so your power steering pump will work fine.

I was in a wrecking yard yesterday and noticed a late a couple 70's/early80's caddys had hydo-boost set up. I have one on my 85K30. IIRC the power steering pumps are different, they have 2 Hi-pressure lines and one low pressure. I'll see if I can post a pic for you tonight.

Thanks,I have the complete system on an`86 diesel Suburban.It looks like mounting on the 350 will be the only hurdle.I`d be amazed if I could just swap the bracketry from 6.2 to 350.I`ll prolly have to get that from a 350 equipped 30.

Here are the pics, I had to wait for the rain to stop. There are 3 line ports on the PS pump. The PS brackets are plain ol' long-nose power steering type used on 73 & up. The motor is a 350 Eldebrock crate.

The low pressure return line from the hydra boost can just be T'd into the low pressure return line from the P\S gear box. No need to get a special pump.
