What's My Blazer Worth?

Okay, so the time has come to put it up on e-bay.

What should I 'realistically' set the reserve at?

It's super clean but not perfect.

Any/all input on the subject at hand is welcome, other comments not so much so.

Most have seen it but to those who haven't, here's a couple pics.

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

Without seeing anything other than those pix - and knowing your location...I will give you my opinion (FWIW).

I would say $8-9000 minimum...depending on how recently the engine/trans has been gone through, any things that need immediate attention, desirable options (tach, vacuum, tilt, etc.), type of lift (block vs spring), rust repair needed, etc.

Your location alone may bring an extra $1500-2000 just because most of the decent ones have to be shipped in anyways (for about that cost) to that area.

Good luck with your sale - if you should decide to move forward. I looked at many (over the net) for about 6 months - so the best time to sell is in the spring (for those seeking a vert for the summer).

It is a nice Blazer.

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

I would say low end 10K to the right person 14-15k. Depending on what your mindset is and in your heart if you can let it go for 12k then set it at that. If your unsure set the reserve high at 13-14k. That way if you get to 12k and just can let it go your OK. Me personally nothing less than 12K
Good Luck

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

I would say it is up in the 10K+ relm...not ever seing it I am assuming everything is there and it all works...hows the rust/floors? Drive train?
If you haven't allready degrease the entire underside and spraypaint it black, keep the whole thing clean..including the engine bay..take clear photos after everything is as cherry as it's gonna get.....then kiss it good by!

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

From what I've seen I'd consider it perfect condition. I'd not take any less than 13500.00 for it if it were mine. That would also depend on the amount of money that you sunk into it. Or just don't sell it and drive it on Sundays, lol.....

Not to be vain but it's pretty damn nice.

Low mileage mildly built 350/good th-350/4:11 gearing/all spring 4" lift w/33's (tires are in great shape)
Tilt column/tach dash/AC (not charged)
Factory original interior, including rear side panels & nice rear seat.
Brand new carpet (just installed) w/jute padding front & rear.
Factory spare tire holder.
Dealer installed, period correct roll bar.
Seat belt holder center console.
E-brake is intact and fully functional.

Zero rust, truly...ZERO.
Base clear paint on a perfectly straight body.
All factory original sheet metal & doors too.
Poly body mounts, new gas shocks, poly gas tank. (gas gauge recently quit )

Hard top is a 7 out of 10 but the hatch could be better.
(digging for another one in the yard)

Thanks for the input so far, it's pretty well on track to what I'm thinking.

It's a pretty stock resto, so basically...been there done that kinda thing.
We rarely use it, it's a true garage queen. (only goes out on perfect days)

I have another one currently under construction.
This one will be a resto-rod style build.

TBI'd 350/700r/241 t-case w/4:11's, 2004 Tahoe buckets-console and rear bench seat.
(have all of those parts already)

Wanna make it more of a driver, something we can jump into and drive for a couple hours in relative comfort and dependability.

So the sale of this one will help fund the next one.

I would not let it go for under $12,500 unless you just have to, of course
I have no experiance on this subject because I still own mine. Good luck.

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

ill say it again vt .. personally i love that blazer. sits jus rite body strait , doors gaps look correct, interior looks great, i know its gotta be hard to set a price on it cause ya wanna get all ya can ,, but you dont wanna set it too high and then have to reduce, most people get kinda wary if they see things posted awhile and then the price comes down. jus my opnion thou. id say atleast 12,000 cause anyone who knows anything about these ole trucks and blazers knows if you cant do the work yourself then theres no way you could have one that nice built for 12,000,, good luck on yr sale..

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

I hope you get $15,000+ it is worth it. If you really want it to sell I would set the reserve at the lowest offer you would take right now from one of the board members, anything you get after that is a bonus. Anyway you can wait until spring? Probably a few thousand difference in price.

Good luck

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

definitely in the 12,500 to 13k range that looks like a really nice clean blazer,
But remember once it's gone, it's gone and sureley you have way more into that one then you will get out of it. I say get it appraised, get a loan, use the loan funds to build your new one.

That Blazer is too nice, dont let it go for less than 15K. Specially if you sell it to someone in California were we tend to pay more for things.

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

Well I think you have prices from $8,000 to $20,000. You know the truck better than anyone else (obviously) and I would say you are as knowledgeable about these trucks as anyone on this board and more so than most of us, so whatever you have in mind I'm sure is right on, but don't give it away. I can't imagine someone else owning that truck but I'm sure that you have thought it out long and hard before you made your decision...so good luck!

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

I've been thinking about your blazer ALOT, I've got mine sold, once he gets money all lined up. I was going to PM you about yours. Now I got to think a bit more on it. One of my problems would be shipping it here and cost of that would determine how much I'd give for it. It is a VERY nice blazer!!!!!

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

From what I've seen of that truck and trucks for sale, I'd guess in the $15,000 - $20,000 range and leaning higher.

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

Are there are many Blazers in Vermont (east coast)? 15K is the absolute lowest you should go.

You might want to get that AC charged if you are going to ebay it. When someone reads AC not charged, they chalk it up as AC doesn't work. Especially since you will be probably be selling this to someone that wants a "move-in" condition rig, because the rest of the ride is ready to go.

The only other thing that might hurt you is that you are selling it in the fall.

You will really appreciate the resto rad as the best of both worlds. Your Blazer should bring at least $12,500 (is worth at least) in my opinion.

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

17K -18K MINIMUM, your K/5 is way nicer then most I see in the 12K - 14K range. Seriously look/watch what you get in the 13K range, your's apears to be above and beyond that group. All you need to do is find that one meticulous picky buyer, you know the guy that has been looking for "The One" for awhile, the guy that know's what he's been looking for and has not been able to find it. This type of buyer upon viewing your K/5 will know, realize and appreciate what he has found and gladly pay what it's rightly worth. Cb

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

It started out nice and got better.Been babied ever since(except for the drool from your kids crashin`out in the back seat.Hopefully not with lolly pops in their hands).
You had it at $12,000 and that should be the reserve.I feel it`s worth more.If you want it gone, you may need to go to $10,000.You never know on the timing and who`s bidding.
Don`t forget to mention it was TOTM on here and CK5.

Re: What's My Blazer Worth?

A couple of thoughts--automatic with 4.11 gears makes it a hard swallow for me as it is geared pretty low with auto. The rest looks great but has it had significant body repair as a rebuild or is it pretty much original as it looks? $12-15K seems to be the going rate for a nice restored K5 but finding a ready buyer is difficult as there are a lot of 4x4 cheaper options out there so you need to find someone who appreciates a classic. I had mine at the Street Rod nationals this summer and must have handed out 20-30 cards with my name and phone #---everyone stopped to check it out but not one followed up which tells me money is being held close right now.
Want to sell it---find the wealthiest area you can, then put a big sign in the window with a price of $19,500. obo---it will sell pretty fast. Take a trip down to the Hamptons on LI and park it with a sign on a weekend (top off). You will get a lot of traffic with a lot of money---and having a weekend toy that you can take the top off and run around with----WOW!! The board and e-bay is not the way to sell a top line classic as everyone is looking for a bargin at your expense. Selling projects--sure but a finished beauty ----go where the money is!! If I was serious about selling mine---that is what I would do. My .02~~~Huck
