Let's see '70 front ends

Anybody got front end pics of a '70 that is 100% correct? I don't care if its a time capsule or a restore, I just want every detail correct.

Thanks in advance,
Tynee

ALMOST correct. I put a 72 bumper on so I could have a cut-outs for my driving lights.

IIRC GM continued using that grille insert until they were all gone, then switched to the '70 style. I know I have read that in a few places.

My truck is a true mutt. That grill surround and insert were picked up at a swap meet. The bumper is a 72. Body VIN says 70. Chassis VIN says 71. Seat is recovered but was originally out of a 68 golden anniversary truck. Tranny and xfer are out of a 72 Blazer. Engine is a stroked 350 (383) out of a 71 Monte. That is just the stuff I did. Who knows what the previous owners did to it.

To make a long story short, it may be a left over 69 grill, or it may be a 70. Either way I don't care, it looks the way I want it.

So, what part of 100% down to the detail did you not catch? I'm messing with you...

Thanks. Shipped it home (from CA) and put a rebuilt engine in it (350 to a 305 - it was cheaper at the time) and redid the sideboards. I have moved a lot of people with it (including myself), hauled dirt and gravel, picked up large truck parts, etc. Definitely has paid for itself many times over since I originally bought it for parts, but the body was rust free so I put it to work. Only rust is now in the passenger rocker panel. Debating whether to put one of my 350's in it or go with the 402 I have in a parts truck. Need to redo the backend and put a trailer hitch so I can also haul with it.

I sure don't. That's the cool thing. Occasionally you see some 80's models, but for the most part ex-military diesels. Gas is too damn expensive. But she gets the thumbs up even over here. Just can't wait to get the Chevelle on the road.

Re: Let's see '70 front ends

Here's the Suburban, it's had that winch bumper/brush guard on there since new so the grille has been protected it's whole life. It had a stock painted bumper that was removed at the dealer but it never came with tow hooks, they weren't listed on the option sheet.

Re: Let's see '70 front ends

The '70 grills were '69 grills but some of the plastic in the inner grill was painted.I believe the outer is the same.I like it,that is the only thing that makes the '69-'70 grills look good, the '70 style inner. From a distance it looks like a billet insert but it is OE.Here is a mint '70 inner grill on a D.D. shape 69-70 outer on my K/5...original looking down to the Black bezel around the lights that the '69-'70s had stock. The bumper...not so good but will replaced some day and maybe some bumper guards too.I think the grill was the best thing on the whole running,driving,$350 Blazer I've sanded, primered, and painted the headlight bezels since the pic and now look better..
