any one have any idea are suggestions .. what kind of oil ? weight ? brand ? Filter ? i should be using

Vavoline VR1 30 OR 40 WT Racing oil.

Well the filter i would highly recommend WIX, the oil depends on if you need zinc in the engine or your just looking for a good oil with no zinc, weight 10w30 or 10w40
i use brad penn 10w30 in mine, kendall or amalie oil is good, i use amalie in my 2011 silverado. What kind of engine do you have, is it daily driver or weekend warrior?

i have a car i drive but some days i just want to drive my truck lol so its a little of both lol with gas being 4.15 where i live try not to drive it so much but i cant help it lol

Agreed. If you're near a NAPA store, their oil is made by Valvoline and their Gold line filters are made by Wix.

I use the ph5 in my 350.Does the ph30 hold more oil?

Ive been using the ph5 for last 12 years on my 350.I may be using the wrong one.Lol.I thought the ph30 may be a heavy duty filter that held more oil.

The Fram PH5 has an anti-drain back valve in it, the 30 does not.

Fram filters suck... period. Wix or AC. Any 10W30 oil will do.

Wix all the way... I know some guys runs Rotella 15W-40 diesel oil due to the high(er) zinc content... Have used it in a few old trucks and seems to work good.

Unfortunately that's not the case anymore. Even the Zinc content in diesel oil is not enough for flat tappet gas engines. Maybe 10 to 15 years ago...

i know im a little crazy but i prefer royal purple in everything i drive, 10 30 full synthetic all the way, maybe a filter to match or k&n

ive been using the k&n filter on my truck with no issues, i run valvoline 10 40 with two bottles of ca159, i use two bottles because it has an 8 qt pan, but the wix filters are really good, fram filters arent real reliable, to much in my motor to run a cheap filter

Wix or AC filter, and 10w-30, usually the O'Reilly Synthetic. I did use some old (unused) Pennzoil my dad gave me, just to get rid of it.

Wix filters are superior to Fram filters. I was a Fram guy for years until I actually took both of them apart. Now I'm a Wix guy. Seeing as how you are in LA you probably dont need to worry about temperature, temps arent that bad down there. If the 350 has less than 75000 i'd use 10w30, if more than that I'd go 10w40. If the engine is tired and loose i'd go 20w50. I've always had good luck with Valvoline convential oil, no need for full synthetic.

WIX filter (NAPA Gold is Wix and Car Quest filters used to be Wix and maybe still are.)

NAPA oil is Valvoline and 15w-40 is on sale for $9.99/gal until 2/25

My friend has a mom and pop auto parts store and had a display some years back and it had a wix filter a fram filter and a ac delco filter cut apart and if you seen that you would never use a fram or delco again, if he still has it i will take a pic and post it then you can see for yourself

you hear that all the time but the ones ive cut open for our 80 buick, 86 poncho, 01 subaru were all well built like the rest, non of that rumored cardboard bypass stuff, cut one open yourself to know for sure.......
