transmission?
I wondering what route to take on the transmission for my truck. It's an 88 C1500 and I intend on putting a carbureted stroker motor in it around 400-450 hp. I have seen 700r4 transmissions for sale that claim to handle that kind of power but I worry that 500hp may be the upper limit and I would rather under stress my transmission than push it to the limit but I'd also like to keep the price of the tranny comperable to that of the 700r4.
Any ideas??

Re: transmission?
Performance Transmission Center helped me out with my trans. I would call up some shops who build a lot of them. I know Bowtie Overdrives can help too I haven't used them though. I did use TCI for a big block trans. Engine dyno'd 635hp/703ft-lbs. It worked good. I don't know how long it lasted cause I haven't heard from my buddy in years. I just know the car was scary to drive.

Re: transmission?
I have also heard that 200R4's can be built to withstand that kind of horsepressure. Difference between 200's and 700's is supposedly the same differences between 350's and 400's. The 200 and 700 just add overdrive.
