Interesting truck...what do you think?

So this seems like a decent truck for the price. He has had it listed for $6500 for a month or so and just dropped the price to $3300. What do you guys think? It looks like it has a sunroof and I know that is frowned upon.

if you have the cash and want it go look at it - price is good, sounds desperate to sell.

Looks like a small block to me, not a 396.

That's what I was thinking too. Maybe it's just the amazing picture quality lol.

Re: Interesting truck...what do you think?

Worth looking at, at the current asking price. Cracked windshield, questionable original mileage (no way to prove / disprove it), custom front bumper looks like stock painted bumper. Possibly a cheapo paint job over who knows how much rust / bondo. Just look it over very carefully. And WHY OH WHY does some one say price good today only? That never made sense to me.

Yeah the mileage I'm curious about. Maybe he isn't aware they start back at zero once they roll past 100,000 lol. And I'm taking a magnet with me to check for bondo. And the price good for today only drives me crazy. Makes me think of used car lots.

Pretty sure there was no such thing as a big block 4 wheel drive option. All 4 wheel drives were small blocks. Just my .02 cents.

Okay well maybe it's not as good of a deal as I was thinking. I just asked him and he is pretty sure it's a 396 BB because that's what the previous owner told him and that it's all numbers matching. I guess this guy doesn't really know. I didn't know that all 4wd's are SB's. This forum rocks!

Re: Interesting truck...what do you think?

Nothing wrong with a sbc. The fact that it is painted blue means its either not original, or been rebuilt and painted a very wrong color. But the shape and size of the valve covers shows its a small block.

If the body is reasonably solid and it runs well, it would be well worth $3300, at least where I live.

Re: Interesting truck...what do you think?

Definitely not a big block in there. This is what it would look like with a BBC in a K20

Mine's not factory and wasn't sold to me as a numbers matching truck. They fit but there isn't room to get your fingers between the engine and firewall. I'm with everyone else about looking closely at it. That paint job scares me, no telling what's underneath. Wondering what kind of aftermarket brakes he's talking about as well, the MC and booster look stock. Looks like a flip truck to me and he doesn't know what's been done to the truck. For the price though, doesn't seem like a bad deal for one that runs and drives regardless of condition.

Better check that "original A/C" also.... looks like just heat to me, certainly looks nothing like my factory A/C.

Re: Interesting truck...what do you think?

I don't see how it could have AC without a compressor and I doubt it's only got 50+k miles and that's definately not a big block. That said it looks fairly solid. If it's as clean as it looks without rust I'd buy it for that price.

I was wondering about the AC too. I can't seen any lines in the picture and I agree that looks like a stock brake booster.

Re: Interesting truck...what do you think?

So I looked at that truck. Definitely a no go. No radio, not an AC cab, 350 motor and trans. The guy new nothing about it. He bought it from his friend who also new nothing about it but the owner before that said it was all those things. He said I could have it for $2k so if anyone wants it.

I guess since no one knows anything about it then it should be advertised as over 100K mileage truck, and since the motor is blue that it is not original as well. Did you find any serious bondo or rust issues? What is your thoughts on the general condition?

The bed was decent. There was a hole in the driver floor board and there was a bunch of spray foam filler around the passenger firewall and heater. And it looks like there was a lot of rattle can spray everywhere the black is. Overall I didn't look at it too hard once I discovered it wasn't as advertised.

Re: Interesting truck...what do you think?

Cant look at the pictures now but definitely a cheap paint job, probably hiding a bunch of bondo thats covering the rust spots?? I also question why a 203 T case? should be a 205 right??

Dang I was hoping for ya. You'll find a good truck soon. At least you know you won't get into a bad truck.
