1963 Belair Wagon

1963 Belair wagon. Me, my wife and my two boys flew to Kentucky and drove it all the way home to Oregon! Has a crate 350 and original 2 speed powerglide tranny. Vintage air, has stock suspension and the coils were cut to lower it and has 20'' salt flat wheels. Repainted at sometime in its life and was flattened out. Just got my CPP catalog so it will have many new parts headed for it soon!! Will post pics as we go along. Enjoy

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

It was a great trip, althought the ac was not hooked up correctly and so we got cold and hot air, but when it rained all the windows would fog up because the defrost vents were not connected at all! It was a trip full of suprises.

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Love it. I think you bought it from the place i just sold my c10 to. They saw my 60 chevy wagon and told me they sold a wagon that the new owner drove that far home......Love your new wagon. Would you mind saying what you had to pay for it? and where did you see it advertised.

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Well this one will be getting a CPP complete suspension makeover with coil overs, sway bars, tubular upper and lower a-arms and trailing arms, a new close ratio steering box, drop spindles and disc brake conversion soon, so I hope it drives like its on rails. Then some new seat foam so its a bit better on my rear!

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Love this wagon!!

Did you keep the original master cyl? or just not done yet.

DO you know if the exhaust is custom from a shop or if its something that can be bought pre bent? i am needing exhaust and wondering which way to go on my 60 wagon

also curious cause your first post said the car had vintage air, but the pic did not show it. Now the latest pic shows the AC. Did you instal it or the guy you bought it from?

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

The pics are a week or so old and the new master cylinder was not on yet, not sure about the exaust, pretty sure it is not a kit though, and the vintage air was instaled by the owner before we flew to Kentucky to pick it up. It had to have ac for us to drive it all the way home from Oregon Here are more pics!

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Glad to see the disc setup. All the old "drum only" cars are really look cool, but w/ 4 wheel drum, are not safe to drive, my opinion. I put front disc on my 67 Bel Air, the parts were off a 70 Impala, they were nothing fancy, but made a 1000% improvement in driveability.

Awesome car!!!

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Hey guys it's Scott's son Wyatt here. Here is the good news, we got the car finished and on the road and it drives AMAZING. Bad news was that we have a cracked block. The old engine has been pulled and the new one is in and we are working on getting it all back together. It's a 350 bored .30 over with a bunch of other goodies. Should be pushing around 340 hp which will be a little but better than the previous 180 or so hp!! The original 2 sped power grouse is staying for now but next summer we might pull it and replace it with a 200r4. I will post some pics when I get home from school today!
