Does anyone here in the forum do gauge cluster restoration / rebuilds. Not sure what is working and what isn't but I would like to either replace my guage cluster with a new one or have my stock one restored. I am having the wiring etc. looked over so in the mean time I figured I would pull the cluster and have it restored or replaced... Man those new clusters sure are Expensive$$ Don't want to go digital I would like to keep it somewhat stock looking but with White text, markings etc and nice red needles. Can anyone recommend someone for restoration or does anyone know of a vendor that may have what I am looking for in a new cluster that is reasonably priced. Here is what I am working with now. Oh and also that column and steering wheel are coming out and I am going with a chrome IDIDIT column and a walnut steering wheel

It's really pretty easy to restore it yourself. Take it apart, clean it up, repainting the needles ( if needed), and replace the bezel. Done deal

You can buy the white face decal's also for them. It is farely easy to do it your self.

If the OP is going to use an new column he/she has cubic money, so why stop w/ the column?
Being cheap, I tried painting the old bezel. No bueno. Now I plan to use an old one that fits the general decrepidness of the truck. You can also dip the bezel in purple power and that will leave it raw black plastic.
The guages rarely go south, but the indicators fade. I backed w/ paper and used a paint pen thing from a hobby store to recolor on one set, but it isn't pretty.
As far a white face goes, it looks hideous. Just don't.

Not looking for white faces I want black faces with clean white markings not the greenish color that came stock

Hers my cluster I did. I just took it apart and cleaned. Then painted the needles testors florescent orange. Super simple. And looks good to

I have a set of instructions on how to fully, quickly remove the dash and/or re-install it that is in pdf form if any members are ever interested in taking this on.
It outlines the preferred tools required and probable time each step by step event should take as well as what not to do.
I think the first time I tried this it took me a couple of hours and a bucket of sweat to finally get the thing out.
Now, it's out and on the bench in about 10-15 minutes.
All of that said tho'...TBone does very nice work so you should get some good info and response from him on these dashes.

just made my own. had to ream the holes a little to fit 2 1/2 gauges but two years later every thing still works. even kept circut board for turn and high beam indicater lights. will go with 5 inch electric speedo and clock some day

I used Coley's instructions to remove my dash and they are spot on with nothing left out. If I remember right he even tells to install a tach if are putting one in.
