Double wall vs Single wall sun visors ??

Blazer is getting final touches at body shop and there are a few more pieces that I need to get color matched - one of those are he sun visor brackets

I have the factory DOUBLE WALL top sun visor brackets BUT just bought a really good SINGLE WALL top

Question - are the sun visor brackets the same between the single wall and double wall ???

thanks

Sorry I don’t have an answer for your question but I believe they’re the same.

I have been looking for a single wall for a long time myself. Just wondering if you don’t mind what it cost to get one?

Brackets are the same regardless of the top style. Good find on the single wall. Do your bed sides have OE caged nuts for the single wall top?

Re: Double wall vs Single wall sun visors ??

Fortunately for me, my top rails have both holes OR holes and capture nuts. I have heard this is true of some of the 72 model years.

This one cost me $1,800 not cheap and still needs some minor repairs on the front passenger corner. But there are no cracks and is in overall great shape. The hatch does need some repair at the top hinges.

My double wall isn't the worst one I've seen but does need a decent amount of repair to be perfect.

Does anyone know if the single wall and double wall hatches are the same ?

For the most part yes, I believe the hinge seal is different on the 2 but if you have to do repairs that can be modified.

Re: Double wall vs Single wall sun visors ??

The hatches and hinges are the same but the hatch hinge seals differ. The 1x walls have a plate backed by a gasket at the exterior hatch end. The 2x walls use a single rubber seals no metal plate. I used the 2x wall hatch hinge seals on the single wall top top I swapped onto my 72.

Added: Some 2x apparently made use of the plate/gasket too probably confined to 72 MY examples but we'd need to dig out some examples to confirm.

See examples here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...3&postcount=30

Another: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...let-blazer-10/ 2x wall with the seal no plate

Another: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...let-blazer-44/ 2x wall with the plate

I should clarify, I've only seen 1x wall tops FWIW that make use of the plate and gasket but some 2x wall examples also used this.

Re: Double wall vs Single wall sun visors ??

Here is a single wall with the plates. Also every single wall I’ve seen or owned had them on the top as well not just the hatch
