Pics of Aftermarket/Repo Parts

I would be interested in seeing pics from any of you that have used any aftermarket/repo parts on a build.

I'm particularly interested in seeing pics with repo grills because I've read on here that they have a big gap.

Re: Pics of Aftermarket/Repo Parts

I know Geoff (Gcburdic) used a complete repop bed on his truck and it turned out GREAT!

I've used triplus rockers, rad support, cab corners, and gate. All fit well although the gate extended past the back of the bedside a bit at the bends but I noticed a couple of originals that did that lately also.

I also used one of their 71-72 outer grilles and the fit was less than to be desired but the truck also had aftermarket (not triplus) fenders on them so I'm not sure what to blame. but I have heard the fit isn't that good on the aftermarket grilles.

The 69 Chevy has Tri-Plus fenders, hood, doors, rocker panels, cab corners and a repro bumper (not sure what manufacturer) and an NOS grill.

The blue and white GMC Sierra Grande has tri-plus doors, fenders, cab corners, rocker panels, kick panels, cab supports, A-pillar patches,

Good eye Jonathan. When I was building the truck I gave the owner a choice of either and he liked that one better

I used a repo hood, fenders rockers, cab corners, and tail gate...... they all worked fine with a little bit a time to work on the fit

Re: Pics of Aftermarket/Repo Parts

Here's a repop grill on my '69 C-20. I got one of the plain ones without the letters and got the sticky letters that the vendors sell. Can't really tell the difference with the lettered grills unless you're looking for it.

Re: Pics of Aftermarket/Repo Parts

not to get off topic here but what is the difference of the grill inserts? I just checked LMC and they have 69 and 70 listed as the same. I have a 69 and would like to know the difference.

As far as my knowledge of repo parts i only have a tailgate and it is not good. Looking for fenders and inners though. Interested to see who has quality parts.

They only repro one grille which is actually the correct style for a 70 (raised and recessed sections) but it's painted like a 69 (all silver). To get a TRUE 69 grille you have to buy original or NOS. If you're not concerned with 100% originality you can use the repop.

If someone has a 70 they can buy a repop and simply tape off the raised sections and paint the recessed sections black and have the correct grille.

Mark, I think that is more of a testimonial for you than for repo parts. It is hard to take chicken feathers and make chicken salad.... but you did.
