Carpet Edge Treatment

Looking for ideas on how folks have trimmed the edges of custom carpeting- like where the carpet would end before going vertical down the step.

Yeah, since the floor is so simplistic in shape and contour- I'm thinking of using nice outdoor carpet to save some $$$. Don't have a way to hem the carpet edge.

Photos and ideas appreciated!

Re: Carpet Edge Treatment

Yep, would be easy to do. Just want to do a neat job and look fairly "factory".

Thanks for the reply!

Re: Carpet Edge Treatment

I used a product called Insta-Bind. Basically sticks to the back then you use your wifes hot glue gun to glue the top edge to the binding. This photo was taken just after I installed it, I am going to give it some time to relax then will use double stick carpet tape to hold the edges in place. Carpet is commercial grade tight low loop with synthetic jute backing. Google it and you will get a link to a video on it. Best pricing when I got mine was from Tools4Flooring.
