Should I replace front windshield with cab on ground?

My new cab has a cracked windshield and my old rusty cab glass is fine, should I try to install the good glass while the good cab is still unmounted on the ground? Or should I wait until it's on the frame?

Thank you all.

My $.02, depends on how you are lifting the cabs on and off. If you using a cherry picker or chain hoist, I would wait. Glass adds weight and makes it front heavy. If you are doing the cab swap with a lift, then now is fine.

Thats a great point--not like I've done it before, it was my first time--but I was having a few balancing issues with the chain hoist, however they were side to side issues, not front to back.

Sounds like I'll have to take a chance either way.

Thanks you guys.
