As a cancer survivor, I agree.
And as a veteran, I feel we've suffered the loss of a great ally.

Re: A sad day, Toby Keith passed...
Woke up to that disappointing and sad news this morning. He was one of my favorites and really did a lot for veterans and many others.
Earthly choir lost a voice but the heavenly choir gained one. Prayers for his family, friends, and fans.

Re: A sad day, Toby Keith passed...
He performed for the USO and I was able to see him in Iraq during my 07/08 tour. Much respect for him doing that. I have many of his songs on my thumb drive and hear them daily in the shop. Cancer does indeed suck and I am going on my five year mark with this summers scans coming up. RIP Toby, you made a difference in this world.

Re: A sad day, Toby Keith passed...
As a Veteran who grew up in an era when military service was despised I enjoyed his warmth towards Vets. It is always heartening when a performer cares about those who have served/serving without an eye towards fattening their wallet. Mr. Keith was such a man. Over 20 USO tours under his belt. His music reflected the respect he felt for the people in the service of the United States of America. Godspeed Mr. Keith, I will remember you, as will countless others.

Re: A sad day, Toby Keith passed...
Saw him live once years ago. Liked quite a few of his songs, but my favorite memory of Toby Keith was when he was set to sing his song "Courtesty of the Red White and Blue" on ABC news and senior reporter Peter Jennings had a fit because he felt the song was too violent ( typical liberal canadian) and Toby Keith said on air "Peter Jennings could kiss my ass!" a true patriot, who stood for God and Country.. may he rest in peace
