My modified van tilt column
Finally remembered to take some pics of my tilt column that I installed a month or so ago. This is a mid 70's automatic van tilt column that I modified for my manual 4 speed truck. That involved shaving off the tilt shifter attachment point and removing the shift indicator housing and filling in both areas.
Here are some pics of the modification process. ![]() ![]() I cut a beer can up to fill in the various holes and used JB weld to secure them and fill in the areas. ![]() ![]() Then ground it smooth. ![]() And here is the finished product. ![]() Not sure if I like the steering wheel - might change it down the road. ![]() ![]()
