Very cool story, and props to you for doing it. The memories you will have for doing this will be priceless to you in the future. My 68 was my dad's truck, and a lot of my memories of him have something to do with that truck. I'm sure you dad will be blown away by this.

Also, very cool looking El Camino. For some reason, El Caminos have been getting my attention a lot lately. Which probably scares my wife!
