Post Trans. mechanic said 700r4 is ok in his book

Talked to a local trans. mechanic w/ a well known rep and he said the 700r4 is great choice to put in our trucks. But... He said that if you go with a 373 rear-end or lower, you need to go with the TH350 instead. The 700 works better with the higher gears. He also said that a lot of the problems concurning preformance is brought on by the individual by not getting them set up right. This board has already mentioned that. Last thing he mentioned was that if you buy one or get one rebuilt, you need to get it installed and on the road. They cant take getting set up for any lenght of time. Maybe this will help some of you on your decissions.
