Sloppy Steering Box 2002 Avalanche 2500

Hey Guys, anybody know the cure for a sloppy steering box on a 2002 Avalanche 2500? The guy I bought the truck from said his brother had a simular truck and had the same problem, a new stock box lasted only a few months. He said his brother bought a heavy duty off road racing box from Jegs and that fixed it. He has been unable to contact his brother to find out which unit he bought. Any ideas guys? This truch has been lifted, and has Larger tires and wheels than stock.
