66 gmc c10 clutch mechanical clutch linkage

Hello,

I was looking at the mechanical clutch linkage underneath my truck today. It appears all stock. The linkage connects to my frame on one side, and right to my engine on the other side. It seems like the engine vibrations would wear this pivot point out.

Is it common and acceptable to leave the linkage this way, attached to the engine block? I'm wondering if I do an engine swap if the new block will have provisions to hook the mechanical linkage to as well.

I was thinking I could probably make a bracket off of the frame to support the other side of the linkage instead of having it hook to the engine. Only if it is necessary, though.

Thanks,

Dan
