This was necessary to beef up the frame because of the new four-wheel independent suspension system, especially for the front torsion bars. I didn't care for it. 1963 replaced the light-duty model's torsion bar front suspension with coil springs. A plus! My 62 had self adjusting brakes. Could never get them to do right. Did a hard stop once and wound up in a 360 Degree spin! After that I cut that son of a gun off and put an IFS on her. I took alot of weight off the front end when I stubed the Mustang II IFS on her! When I beef the motor up! I hope to put stand her on the back bumper!!!!!!!!!
better have some major hp to stand 3600lb+ on the bumper!
