lets talk performance

OK gents!
So i was going to put a new stock motor in my 98 2wd blazer with a 4.3..
but a firend of mine REALLLLY wants it. BUT he dosent want the stock motor.

so we negotiated a deal but he wants me to build him a screaming little
motor. maby 300 hp if plausable.

But the issue to me is that the motors bad because the PO had ran it avter overheating and it has no compression now.

im worried that if i pull the block down the walls wont be serviceable.
Do you guys think this is worth the time and effort?

Also what has been commonly done and proven worth while for a build?
I personally ahve been thinking repair cyl walls, get a different piston to bring up the compression and a mild cam.
exhaust and intake also.

whats your input?

thanks!
