Cleaning/protecting billet pulleys and brackets

What's the best way to clean and protect this stuff? I have a brand new Billet Specialties Tru Trac setup and I noticed that when I was mocking it up on the motor that when I would screw the bolts in with my fingers that my skin skuffs the billet. I thought about having it powder coated in a clear but the tolerances on this stuff is so tight that I'm a little leary of powder or clear coat. That may be the way to go but I'm just wondering if there is another way.
