69 GMC Build

So I bought my first truck of this generation. I've had several other short boxes in the past, but I've always wanted one of these. I was originally looking for a Chevy, but after seeing this GMC I just couldn't pass it up. It's about as rust free and straight as you can expect a 40+ year old truck to be, and for $1800 I had to have it. It's about as original and unmolested as they get, I6, 3 on the tree, AM stereo and Biasply tires. I love it.

The bumper and grill are in great shape.

So to convert it to a short box I picked up a 70 Chevy short box frame, complete with 5 lug conversion. It's in good shape but the front frame horn in a little wavy, so I'm sure it's been repaired.

I plan to keep the truck running and driving as long as possible, while working on the other frame.

In the mean time I'll be keeping my eyes on CL to find a SB fleetside bed. I've missed a couple but I've still got time.

I'll try to document as much as I can as I go along.

I know we all love Pics

Thanks for watching
J-rod
