77 c10 454 build up

Hello,
I'm building a stepside 1977 C10. Doesn't have anything really working on it. Been slowly replacing body parts (rocker panels, floor pans etc). Thinkin about the TKO600 not sure on what OD (.80 or .64). Will be a four link suspension btw. It's currently slammed and they way they did the rear is just ugly as heck. Jimmy rigged...

I have a 12 bolt in it that the guy before me broke a tooth off with a SB 350.

I have a 4 bolt 454 with a forged crank and rods. I have factory 820s that will receive 2.19-1.88 valves, bowl blend and mild port and polish.

I'm waiting on a cc kit but should be around 8.5:1 - 9:1 CR (closer to 8.5:1 because I want 9:1 I'm sure..)

I'm thinking 4.10s for gears due to an OD tranny. Kinda like alot of get up and go. Will be a weekend driver. Maybe once a year I MIGHT goto a dragstrip but I doubt it.

So I'm thinkin about going with a magnum 270HR cam.. What do you guys think? Looks like a good match to my oval ports. I'd match that to a performer intake I think. To keep the heat cross overs..

Anyone block those heat crossovers in cold weather without ill effect? I know it's different but my bug wont run without em..

I also sometimes think about sticking a weiand 177 and a lunati H222/235 cam in her with some blower pistons. Be about a grand more because its a hyd tappet vs my selected roller cam. I'd be worried about running it to a 12 bolt truck axle...

Anyone run a TKO-600 in their C10?

Anyone got a 12 bolt truck axle with 454 power infront of it? Are the 3.73s or 4.10s any stronger?? I'm under the understanding there is a perfect balance between pinion and ring strength is why I ask.

Anyone upgrade to a FF 14 bolt? I know they're heavy but that could help plant the power.. Be doing that if I supercharge it. I WOULD kinda like the option to run 87 if needed, sorta leaning towards the 270HR cam..

Does the 454 sit any higher than the 350?
